About
A structured MSF Method rehabilitation block for appropriately screened ACL and meniscus recovery, designed to rebuild knee range, quadriceps strength, neuromuscular control and confidence before higher-level return to activity. The pathway follows REGULATE → RESTORE → REBUILD → RETURN. START HERE: identify whether the pathway is non-operative, post-meniscectomy, post-meniscus repair or ACL reconstruction; record swelling, range, quadriceps control, walking and personal goals. WEEK 1 — REGULATE: settle effusion, restore extension where permitted and reconnect quadriceps control. WEEK 2 — REGULATE → RESTORE: restore range, gait and basic weight-bearing control. WEEK 3 — RESTORE: strength foundations and neuromuscular control. WEEK 4 — RESTORE → REBUILD: increase strength and complete a midpoint review. WEEK 5 — REBUILD: single-leg strength and dynamic knee control. WEEK 6 — REBUILD: strength endurance and impact preparation where cleared. WEEK 7 — RETURN: prepare for work, running or sport using objective criteria. WEEK 8 — RETURN → CONTINUE: retest and plan the next rehabilitation block. Important: programme week is not the same as post-operative week. Meniscus repair and ACL reconstruction have healing and surgeon-specific restrictions that override this programme. Return to pivoting sport commonly requires a much longer, criterion-based rehabilitation process. Private / approval-required access is used so the correct stage and support level can be confirmed.
