About
A stage-specific MSF Method rehabilitation block for Achilles recovery. The programme separates chronic tendinopathy from Achilles rupture/post-operative rehabilitation and uses REGULATE → RESTORE → REBUILD → RETURN to rebuild calf strength, walking capacity and higher-level function. START HERE: identify tendinopathy versus rupture/post-operative pathway, confirm protection/boot restrictions and record walking, swelling, ankle and heel-raise function. WEEK 1 — REGULATE: establish safe calf loading. WEEK 2 — REGULATE → RESTORE: improve walking and seated calf strength. WEEK 3 — RESTORE: progress toward controlled double-leg calf loading. WEEK 4 — RESTORE → REBUILD: midpoint review and progressive calf strength. WEEK 5 — REBUILD: single-leg bias and walking/stair capacity. WEEK 6 — REBUILD: calf endurance and energy-storage preparation where cleared. WEEK 7 — RETURN: return-to-run and higher-level function preparation. WEEK 8 — RETURN → CONTINUE: retest and build the long-term calf plan. Important: after Achilles rupture or repair, programme week is not injury week. Boot position, wedge removal, weight-bearing, ankle range and stretching restrictions from the treating service override this programme. Rupture rehabilitation is clinician-led and commonly continues for many months. Private / approval-required access is used so the correct pathway and support level can be confirmed.
